Long-Term, Low-Cost Loans

Wichita has the benefit of two key sources of low-interest funding.

Kansas State Revolving Loan Fund (SRF)

Environmental Protection Agency
Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA)

Substantial Savings Over Generations

The City is working to secure two types of loans (state and federal) which are awarded to public water supply projects and provide significant cost savings. For more information visit the City’s website.

Operational Efficiencies,
Environmentally Friendly

In addition to providing maximum value to ratepayers, Wichita Water Partners (WWP) is placing an emphasis on operational efficiencies that will serve future generations. WWP’s work to date is projected to save more than $6 million a year in future operating costs.  The facility is better for the environment, too, employing smart systems to reduce chemical use and create less waste.

A Locked-In Maximum Price

On October 28 Wichita Water Partners submitted its proposed design for 30% of the plant and its final guaranteed maximum price of $494.2 million. The guaranteed maximum means the city has no exposure to inflation and no risk of cost overruns.
